Neutron science animations on the ILL website
Animations of SANS, TOF etc. help non-specialists understand neutrons
The ILL website has recently commissioned educative science and instrument animations designed to help users understand the principles behind phenomena such as magnetism and inelastic scattering, or instruments such as D11, the Small-angle scattering instrument and the Three-axis spectrometer Thales.
The Flash animation of D11, for example, shows how measurements are performed on this small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) instrument, designed for the study of large scale structures in chemistry, biology and solid state physics.
